A full range

The Inverter line is truly complete, including two technologies: AC Inverter (alternating current system) and DC Inverter Plus
(direct current system) to achieve still greater energy efficiency.

Comparison between On-Off and Inverter systems

On-Off
Functional analysis
In these units the compressor works at a single speed. The room temperature drops well below the desired level (too cold) before the compressor cuts out.
The temperature then begins to rise and reaches a significant level before the air conditioner cuts in again (too hot).
This continuous alternating of on-off phases also depends on the size of the system and may lead to an unnecessary waste of energy.
In fact, the compressor’s electric motor is not particularly efficient during the first minutes after it cuts in. If one takes a full 24 hour climate control cycle as a whole, the On-Off type compressor provides good performance during the daytime - since the on-off phenomenon is more limited - while it is less efficient when operating at low thermal loads (typical of nighttime operation or, in multisplit systems, due to the use of a single indoor unit).
This frequent alternating of on-off phases is also the source of noise and wear of the common mechanical components.

Characteristics
With this type of air conditioner the room temperature can only be regulated by turning the compressor on and off since it only has a single fixed operating speed.

Inverter
Functional analysis

The main characteristic of the Olimpia Splendid Inverter is that it can constantly vary the compressor operating speed according to the needs of the environment where the air conditioner is installed.
In cooling mode, when the air conditioner is turned on, the compressor starts running at maximum so that the comfort temperature is reached quickly. Then the compressor slows down to achieve the ideal r.p.m. for the set temperature. Thus the Inverter air conditioner maintains the desired room temperature and it is practically impossible to perceive fluctuations in temperature.

Characteristics
The variable power of the OS Inverter System air conditioners makes it possible to reach the set temperature more quickly than with On-Off
(traditional) air conditioners and to maintain that temperature without annoying fluctuations. Over a 24-hour period, the Invertertype compressor provides optimal performance and at any thermal load: the result is greater efficiency and significant energy savings. The continuous modulation of power also ensures quieter operation and lengthens the life of your air conditioner since the compressor does not need to be turned on and off repeatedly.

Fast cooling and heating

When the unit is turned on the inverters achieve such power that they quickly reach the set temperature. Once the desired temperature has
been reached, the inverter system keeps it stable, reducing power absorption to a minimum.

Individual control for each room

In the Multisplit models the OS Inverter System technology makes it possible to further reduce consumption through flexible management of the power supplied.
All this ensures the ideal climate in each room with the use of just one outdoor unit and with low energy consumption.

More variable power and lower energy consumption

The inverter technology regulates the power according to the indoor temperature and comfort requirements thus lowering consumption by as much as 30% while, for brief periods of time, the power can be increased by as much as 30% over the rated power.

Room temperature stability

The Inverter technology provides the best control over room temperature, keeping oscillations to the barest minimum. The result is greater comfort under all conditions.

The Inverterplus DC system
The Inverterplus DC (direct current) system has a high efficiency, brushless permanent magnet motor to drive the compressor, which is the heart of the unit.
The Inverterplus DC (direct current) systems are 30% more efficient than the asynchronous induction motors used in traditional air conditioning
units and offer proportionally lower power consumption.

Utmost silence

Complete control over the compressor and fans, plus the large heat exchange surface, make the units extremely quiet.

Eco-friendly
Inverter uses R410A refrigerant gas with zero ozone depletion potential.

Maximum efficiency
Low consumption

Environmentally-friendly

Remote control

A compact infrared remote control, equipped with a large liquid crystal display, facilitates remote control of all unit functions.

Outdoor unit

0.8 mm-gauge steel construction painted with polyester powder for increased weather resistance.
Can be installed on the floor or wall-mounted. The side casing protects the connection valves. The air outlet vents have been designed to reduce turbulence and noise.
